OUR SERVICES

Technical Framing Solutions uses our background in framing and technical expertise in drafting to create layouts that facilitate wood framing on the jobsite. We begin gathering information, rough openings, etc. months in advance of delivery to make sure everything needed to create layouts, shop drawings, and helpful details is included. This means you spend less time punching out and fixing framing errors. We pride ourselves on providing clear, easy to read wall panel elevations and layouts. Having years of experience installing wall panels ourselves, one of our primary goals is to minimize mistakes made in the field and make the job of the framers easier by providing layouts with proper labels, dimensions and relevant information.

WALL PANEL DRAWINGS

We use the latest industry specific design software to create wall panel elevation drawings and layouts. These drawings can be used by a wall panel plant to build pre-fabricated wall panels that are then shipped to the job site. As an alternative, these drawings can be used to cut the wood members within each wall which then get shipped to the job to be nailed together on-site per the wall drawings we provide. This eliminates framing errors and reduces waste as pieces are already cut and plates are accurately laid out by our computer controlled saw and marking system. In addition, because we use industry specific software used by many truss manufactures we can overlay floor and roof truss designs on our walls to make sure there are no interferences. HOLD-DOWN AND ANCHOR BOLT LAYOUTS:

Many jobs today involve post-tensioned concrete. For these jobs, it’s ideal, if not necessary, to place any hardware required for hold downs and anchor bolts in the concrete form prior to pouring. We create layouts to accurately place this hardware with stud spacing, openings and post locations in mind. This saves a lot of frustration by knowing that hardware is where it’s supposed to be when you got to stand walls. 3D MODELING:

Some jobs involve complicated wood assemblies for balconies, cantilevered beams, etc. We can create 3D models of what is specified in the structural plans so that your crews on site can have a better sense of the structural engineer’s intent and perhaps offer an alternative solution that is easier and more cost effective. We are unique in that we offer highly experienced field consultants to visit job sites to make sure everything we are providing is getting installed per plan and there are no issues. These consultants are there to answer any questions and resolve any issues that may arise promptly. They will check critical load paths and make sure the building is being framed according to the structural engineer’s intent. They can also offer advice on framing efficiencies and what will work best for your framing scenario.
